Dental Benefits
Tufts University offers a comprehensive Dental Plan for you and your family members through the Delta Dental Premier USA Plan. You will enjoy greater benefits when you receive your dental care from a participating dentist from the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine or in the Delta Dental Premier with a national overage network, which includes 121,000 dentists.
- Calendar Year Maximum: $1500 per person
- Preventive and Diagnostic Services are covered at 100%
- Basic Restorative (restorative, oral surgery, periodontics, endodontics, prosthetic maintenance and emergency dental care) is covered at 80%, after a calendar year deductible of $50 per Individual/$100 per Two- Person/$150 per Family, when services are rendered by a Delta Dental Dentist. If services are performed at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, they will be covered at 80%; deductibles do not apply.
- Major Restorative (prosthodontics and major restorative) is covered at 60%, after a calender year deductible of $50 per Individual/$100 Two-Person/$150 Family, when services are rendered by a Delta Dental Dentist. If services are performed at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, they will be covered at 70%; same deductibles apply.
- Orthodontics are covered at 50% to any age, with any provider, with a separate lifetime maximum of $1000.
- If you receive preventive care in 2008 you may qualify for a rollover credit to use in 2009. This credit may apply if you do not use up your annual maximum (restrictions apply).
