Health Care and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA):

Use pre-tax dollars to pay for eligible expenses for:

  • Health Care Expenses
  • Dependent Care Expenses

WageWorks, our FSA administrator, provides:

  • Health Care Debit Card
  • Online access to account balance and other services

Flexible Spending Accounts allow you to set aside a portion of your pay on a pre-tax basis to pay for eligible medical, dental, vision, child care and elder care expenses. The money you contribute to these plans reduces your taxable income, thereby reducing your taxes.

You may set aside up to:

  • $5,000 per calendar year for health care expenses and,
  • $5,000 per calendar year for dependent care expenses

Once enrolled in a Health Care and/or Dependent Care Expense FSA account, a packet of information will be mailedto your home address by WageWorks.

Note:

Please be cautious when selecting an annual amount. The IRS requires that any amounts remaining in your FSA Account on April 30th following the end of the previous calendar year, must be forfeited.
