Subject: Payroll Preparedness for H1N1

To: Tufts Managers

Plans for a university response to a potential H1N1 outbreak on campus are well underway.  Even if a large number of staff and faculty are absent, the university will continue to produce weekly and semimonthly payrolls. But we need your help.

The weekly payroll depends on each department’s entry of hours worked into the Time Entry system for non-exempt, weekly-paid employees. Each department has a time administrator who enters these hours. In addition, each department should have a second employee who serves as a back-up to the main time administrator.

In preparation for a potential large scale absence, we ask that all managers be aware of their work group’s primary and back-up time administrators. If you have not identified and trained a back-up for this process, please do so now so that access can be granted in advance of an emergency.
