Welcome to Tufts University! We are pleased to offer benefits programs which provide a full range of plan choices and comprehensive coverage to our benefits eligible employees and families.

Health: Employees have the option of three comprehensive health plans offered exclusively by Tufts Health Plan; Quality Tiered, Traditional, or Value plan.

Dental: Employees can enroll in the Delta Dental Premier USA Plan.

Vision: Administered by EyeMed Vision Care, the plan provides benefits for an annual eye examination without a copayment and significant discounts on frames, lenses, and contact lenses.

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA): The Health Care FSA can be used for medical, dental and vision expenses for you and your tax dependents. We also offer a Dependent Care FSA which can be used to pay for child and/or elder daycare.

Health Advocate: This is a benefit offered at no cost to employees. It is designed to help handle healthcare and insurance-related issues by cutting through the barriers that often create frustration.

Retirement Plans: The University offers two retirement plans — a 401(a) Basic and a 403(b) Voluntary Retirement Plan. The University contributes to the 401(a) Basic Retirement Plan to help eligible employees build substantial savings for their retirement years. Employees can also enroll in the 403(b) Voluntary Retirement Plan to defer their own contributions up to the IRS annual limit.

NOTE: You may enroll in this new benefit at any time during the year (not subject to Open Enrollment). Coverage is effective on the 1st of the following month if you enroll by the 15th of a month. (I.e. Effective date is January 1st if enrollment is completed by December 15th.  Coverage is effective February 1st if enrollment is completed between December 16th and January 15th).
