On March 1, 2011 Tufts University made changes to the 401(a) Basic and 403(b) Voluntary Retirement Plans in response to recent federal guidelines requiring institutions to provide better, more focused oversight of retirement plan options provided to employees. The improvements are the result of a comprehensive review and subsequent recommendations by the university’s Retirement Investment Advisory Committee (RIAC), a committee consisting of Tufts’ faculty and staff members. There will be no changes to the contribution level or vesting schedule for either the 401(a) or 403(b) Retirement Plans.
