This program was established in 2003 with the goal of providing a unique professional development opportunity for managers at Tufts. As a participant in this program, you will:
- Increase self awareness with regard to management and leadership knowledge;
- Learn how to apply this knowledge in your current managerial role;
- Build supportive and collaborative relationships with peers; and
- Enhance your confidence and ability to manage and develop your employees.
The program provides a confidential learning environment, where you may practice leadership skills and gain insights from your colleagues through participation in small group discussions and activities.?Tufts Leadership Competencies will be among the learning resources that you will use during this training. Participants will also utilize the Leader Behavior Analysis II and the Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument to gain an understanding of their leadership style, flexibility and preferred methods of resolving conflict. Additionally, you will receive a participant guide, which is rich in resources and reference tools.?The program faculty is comprised of consultants and directors from Organizational Development and Training (ODT) and other Human Resource departments.
The target audience for this program includes new managers (whether recently hired or promoted) as well as any manager who would like to refresher or enhance their leadership skills.
This program is comprised of six full day modules and is generally offered 3-5 times annually.? Due to the pedagogical design of the course, participation is limited to twenty managers per program.
